Parade / Joint Performance Conductor Change Announcement
Every year since it’s beginning in 1992, the Nagano prefecture residents welcome the festival and its guests with a colorful parade going through historic downtown Matsumoto and ending in a joint concert with festival conductors in the garden of Matsumoto's majestic samurai castle.
We would like to announce that instead of artistic director Seiji Ozawa this year the joint performance will be conducted by Kyosuke Matsushita. Kyosuke Matsushita first joint the Saito Kinen Festival last year as a chorus conductor of Verdi’s opera “Falstaff”, following by Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Opera Project Ravel: “L’enfant et les sortilèges” held this year in March.
