In celebration of its 30th anniversary, The Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival would like to express its sincere gratitude to Nagano locals by inviting them to attend open rehearsals.

Opera Mozart: "Le nozze di Figaro" rehearsal invite 2nd year junior high school students in Nagano Prefecture
Director Seiji Ozawa's passion to deliver classical music to children has been a pillar of the festival since beginning the Saito Kinen Festival Matsumoto in 1992. Each year the festival has invited 6th year elementary school children to the “Concert for Children” and 1st year junior high school students to the “Opera for Children”. Unfortunately, the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic caused the cancellation of the last two festivals. Thus, the current 2nd year junior high school students have missed two seasons and were not able to appreciate these educational programs. Director Seiji Ozawa, and The Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival Executive Committee will invite 100 pairs of Nagano Prefecture students and a guardian to Opera Performance Rehearsal.

*Opera: Mozart “Le nozze di Figaro” Rehearsal will be open to 100 pairs of second-year junior high school students and one accompanying guardian with residence in Nagano Prefecture.
*Please note that the rehearsals may not cover the entire program, or the order of the music may be changed.

Second-year junior high school students and one accompanying guardian with residence in Nagano Prefecture are welcome.
If more than 100 pairs apply, a lottery drawing will take place and tickets will be sent to those who are selected.
